About our chosen Charity…
The Dame Vera Lynn Trust for Children with Cerebral Palsy was set up in 2001 and needs to raise in excess of £650,000 per year to ensure that the vital and much needed services that the School for Parents in both West Sussex and Suffolk provide can continue. Their services are provided free of charge, and the school receives no statutory funding and relies entirely on the support of the community.
The Dame Vera Lynn Trust School for Parents works in partnership with families to educate the young children with motor learning difficulties. It supports families with babies and children under five.
The School for Parents involves active learning through play. Using the principles of Conductive Education and alongside their parents, the children learn daily living skills and are empowered to make choices and become more independent. This prepares them for life at home, the community and for the next stages of their education.
