Slinfold and Cranleigh Golf and Country Clubs cycled their way to raising £487.30 for the Dame Vera Lynn Trust with Horsham 100.
The teams from both clubs cycled on spin bikes in the middle of Swan Walk Shopping Centre for over eight hours to raise the money. Gym bags were on offer for minimum suggested donations with many of them going for more than that.
The teams were also joined by the Swingtime Sweethearts who sung to the shoppers of Horsham throughout the day. They performed in the Centre and around the town to the delight of many. The singing duo also hit the offices of the West Sussex County Times, giving the editors a small interlude in their working day.
The Clubs are aiming to raise £10,000 for the Dame Vera Lynn Trust as part of the Horsham 100 campaign that has recently been launched by Tanbridge House School and PMW Communications Ltd.
To support the Clubs efforts, shoppers can still support the Clubs by sponsoring them at www.justgiving.com/SlinfoldCranleigh.
Andy McNiven, General Manager at Slinfold Golf & Country Club commented: “This is a great start to our efforts to raise money for the Dame Vera Lynn Trust. We will be holding more events throughout the year to keep this running total going in the right direction. I am personally delighted to be reacquainted once more with this fantastic charity in such an innovative new way with Horsham 100. They are a fantastic charity helping parents to look after their children with cerebral palsy.”
Dominic Eagle, General Manager at Cranleigh Golf & Country Club continued: “We were excited with what our efforts have produced and will continue to raise money for such a worthy cause.”
